SEVEN RESTAURANT CONCEPT

 

 

Seven is a first-of-its-kind, contemporary Americana, culinary restaurant for America’s urban core.  The restaurant features craft cocktails, contemporary american food, rooftop seating, and a one-of-a-kind concert venue.  The first of a collection of restaurants, this first location and corporate headquarters is located in the heart of the River North (RiNo) neighborhood.

 

In a building that was once used for the manufacture of mints, the proposed design relies on the existing structure.  A new atrium, serving the rooftop bar, resolves the existing joint between warehouse and office.  The atrium becomes the exterior and interior focal point and is designed to harken back to the significant steel truss building signs common in the 30’s and 40’s.  Using the existing industrial ‘bones’, the design interventions are purposefully contemporary.  Building on the urban character of the neighborhood and vision for the restaurant, the design features graffiti art serving to highlight the performance venue.
