COLFAX & LAFAYETTE RESIDENCES

The 200-unit multi family project preserves the facade of the historic Rosenstock building, removing later additions, not compatible with the structure.  The architecture is a modern interpretation of the old, respectful of the scale and proportion within the existing established framework.  The darker mass emulates the larger scale along Lafayette Street and provides a backdrop to the contrasting forms on Colfax Avenue.  The modernist vocabulary marks the corner quietly, drawing cues of scale and aperture from the existing Rosenstock context.  The program includes ground floor retail and amenities, with a mixture of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, in addition to rooftop amenities and structured parking.
